Head Office Dronagiri Node, opposite MSWC CFS, Nhava Sheva, Navi Mumbai, Raigad Dist, Maharashtra – 400707
A Container Freight Station positioned at the Dronagiri Node near Nhava Sheva serves as a key logistics efficiency facilitator for EXIM cargo movements across the Mumbai port region. Situated just 12 kilometres from the port, this facility connects directly to National Highway NH-4B. That connection further links it to the Mumbai–Pune Expressway and the Mumbai–Goa Highway NH-17. State Highway SH-54 extends their reach toward Navi Mumbai, Thane, Nasik, and Ahmedabad. This strategic location allows importers, exporters, and Customs House Agents to access a well-positioned CFS without navigating complex port-side congestion.
Government Partnership Model
The facility operates under a Strategic Alliance for Management and Operations Agreement, commonly referred to as the SAMO Agreement. MSA Global Logistics Private Limited, a Mumbai-based organisation established in 2012, manages and operates the facility on behalf of Central Warehousing Corporation. CWC holds the status of a Schedule 'A'-Mini Ratna, Category-1 Central Public Sector Enterprise. The Warehousing Corporations Act of 1962 formally established this statutory body. Their alliance runs for a tenure of 10 years, with an option to extend it by a further five years. MSA brings decades of professional expertise to this arrangement, covering CFS and ICD development, operations, maintenance, and Empty Container Depot management.
Cargo Handling Capacity
The facility accommodates up to 54,000 TEUs annually, making it one of the capable CFS locations near Jawaharlal Nehru Port. Two warehouses together offer a combined space of 75,000 square feet. That area handles up to 7,500 TEUs for LCL and export cargo movements. The entire premises feature fully paved block flooring, which supports heavy equipment movement without surface deterioration. Equipment deployed here includes two Kalmar reach stackers, one crane, one 10MT forklift, and seven 3MT forklifts. This fleet covers the full range of loading and unloading requirements that customers bring to the yard on any given working day.
FCL LCL Container Services
The facility does not perform shipping operations and does not handle freight in the carrier sense. Instead, it acts as a coordination and facilitation point between port operations and cargo owners. FCL services cover loaded container handling and destuff deliveries for import cargo. LCL services include destuffing, cargo storage, and onward delivery to consignees. Export handling and HUB Stuffing form an equally significant part of their service portfolio. Weighment of containers takes place on-site, removing the need for importers to seek external weighbridges. Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill printing by Customs happens directly at the facility, reducing clearance turnaround times for CHAs.
Direct Port Delivery container handling operates at this facility as a Preferred CFS under the DPD scheme. That designation allows importers to move cargo directly from the port to their premises through this CFS without additional intermediate steps. Reefer container handling receives specific attention through dedicated Reefer Plug-in Points installed across the yard. Temperature-sensitive cargo therefore receives appropriate power connections throughout its stay at the facility. Project cargo handling at CFS level expands their scope further, covering oversized or heavy-lift consignments that standard container yards typically decline.
Value-Added Cargo Solutions
Beyond core container operations, the facility extends several value-added services that reduce the need for cargo owners to seek external vendors. Palletising and chocking services prepare cargo for safe onward movement. Door-to-door delivery arrangements connect the CFS directly to the consignee's premises, eliminating multiple handoff points in the supply chain. Separate LCL and FCL counters within the administrative block speed up documentation processing for CHAs. A dedicated Xerox and documentation area for CHAs removes the common bottleneck of paper preparation inside the customs clearance zone. Custom seating areas and separate waiting rooms for CHA personnel reflect an operational layout designed around practical daily workflows.
Infrastructure Security Standards
Physical infrastructure at the facility extends beyond cargo-handling equipment. A 24x7 CCTV surveillance system covers the entire premises continuously. Round-the-clock security personnel complement the electronic surveillance layer. An administrative building, canteen facility, and separate functional counters keep the facility operationally self-sufficient throughout the day and night. MSA also holds membership with MTO, AMOTI, and WCA, which broadens their network access across freight forwarding, contract logistics, and multimodal transport operations. Their warehousing presence in both Mumbai and Chennai adds geographic depth to the operational framework they bring to this CFS management arrangement.
EXIM Cargo Efficiency
The broader mission of cost-effective, value-added, and integrated warehousing for EXIM cargo flows through every operational decision made at this facility. Importers gain a structured gateway where customs processes, cargo storage, destuffing, and delivery occur under one managed facility. Exporters benefit from coordinated HUB Stuffing and export handling services that align with port schedules. The facility positions itself as a logistics efficiency facilitator that brings order, physical infrastructure, and process discipline to the complex movement of containerised trade through one of India's busiest port clusters.
