Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said on Friday that the government would come out with a BC Sub Plan in the next financial year if everyone in the House thinks it would benefit the communities concerned.
Intervening during the discussion on budget demands pertaining to weaker sections’ welfare in the State Assembly, he said he had no objection to community-wise sub plans for budgetary allocation and spending. “If everyone in the House wants a separate sub plan for BCs, the government would definitely fulfil it. There is nothing wrong spending the allocations meant for BCs under a separate sub plan,” the Chief Minister said.
Rao was also quick to point out that it had become a tendency to ask for separate sub plans for caste groups. “Even the so-called OCs are no exception to this. I have already cautioned leaders who have been insisting on such sub plans,” he said, adding that they would stand to lose in the allocations.

Quoting the result of the Samagra Kutumbha Survey (SKS) and other studies, the Chief Minister said that SCs, STs and Backward Classes accounted for more than 90 per cent of Telangana’s population, while the so called OCs were only 9.25 per cent.
The budgetary allocation would be spent mainly on the weaker sections for their development.
