Biography of Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah

Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah was born on 15Jul1949 to the great couple Sri.Satravada Govinda Reddy and Smt.Jayalakshmi. Sri.Satravada Govinda Reddy  was a daily wage laborer and worker(Karmikudu). The couple had one son and one daughter.  The son Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah was a B.Com. graduate. He was College Sports Champion. During Intermediate and Degree studies, he was the College Sports Champion in all the years.  The norm for the award of   College Sports Champion was that the student should win the first prize in 5 events in a year. Thus, he won the first prize in 5 events in 5 consecutive years during Intermediate studies as well as Bachelors Degree studies.

Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah  was an expert in Pole Vault. In Pole Vault event, one holds a stick and jumps. He respresented the A.P. state in this event. He was selected for Indian Army after Bachelors Degree studies. He did not join as his father opined that his only son should rather be in a position otherwise. 

Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah had nuptial knot with Smt.Chandrakala. The couple got the children Chi.Satravada Praveen and his elder sister Smt.Lakshmikala. The latter is resident in Bangalore with her software engineer husband while the former remained in SriKalahasti with his wife and son and parents.

 In 1980, Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah  was ward councillor for Ward 17@SriKalahasti Municipality which is now the Ward 29. In the 1985 imbroglio of Sri.NT Rama Rao, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah got TDP ticket for MLA@SriKalahasti as Sri.NT Rama Rao was quite impressed with the straightforwardness, honesty, and his excellent style of defending the People's side of the issues. Sri.H.J Dora's TDP intelligence report was very much in favor of Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah's candidature for the MLA@SriKalahasti. For the Telugu Ganga Project, Sri.N.T.Rama Rao was the Chairman while  Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah was one of the two members in the committee. He served as the MLA@SriKalahasti for 2 1/2 years during 1985-1987.5. As he was the govt. railway contractor during the nomination time, the opposition candidate Chenchu Reddy got the election cancelled in 1987.

Sri.Satravada Muniramaiah served as the TUDA Chairman during 1988-89. Next, he distanced himself from politics for quite some time. 

In 1999, in the reign of Rajasekhar Reddy@Congress, he contested through  Congress. But, there was TDP wave and he lost the poll with a mere 1600 votes margin. He is unique as the first Vannikulakshatriya MLA of our community.
