Short-Term Assessment: The How

Rationale: Engaging in regular instructional cycles of planning, instruction, assessment, and reflection is essential in ensuring that educators are monitoring the progress that students are making toward longer-term learning priorities such as the Common Learning Challenge. By engaging in regular instructional cycles related to the Common Learning Challenge and monitoring student progress via short-term assessments, teachers can determine the instructional moves that need to be made to ensure that each individual student is making adequate progress.

Learning Intention: Teams will deepen their understanding around the rationale for short-term assessment and will be able to develop a standards-aligned short-term assessment in a variety of formats.
