UPHS's Fall Carnival!

On October 26, 2024, students and faculty of University Preparatory High School (UPHS) woke up bright and early to drive to and set up in the UPHS quad. Many brought tables, games, popup canopies, and anything necessary for a successful and comfortable day. Then, at 12:00 PM, the annual Fall Carnival commenced.
Once the event started, Mr. Fritz was so kind as to arrange various performances. From his classes, the Concert and chamber choir sang songs from “The Greatest Showman.” From the classical melodies to the ragtime of ‘The Entertainer,’ his symphony orchestra, concert band, and intermediate and advanced bells played. The UPHS dance team was also so generous to perform their ‘Fein’ choreography.
While Mr. Fritz arranged sorts of melodies, booths, and food vendors were ongoing. The new ‘Fashion Club’ has a classic game of bottle ring toss, where the participants throw rings, attempting to land on a bottle for a prize. The class of 2025 obtained the dunk tank for the last time, having Mrs. Block in it. The class of 2028 took the class of 2024’s cakewalk and added henna tattoos. And finally, the Medical Club somehow had access to a photo booth, which gained popularity. For the food, the PSO offered all kinds of drinks such as water, soda, Gatorade, and more. Not only that but there was a range of chips and candy options. Also, a few companies had booths to sell and promote their food, such as shaved ice, pizza, and Mexican food.
Before the fall carnival came to an end at 4:00 PM, the silent auction ended. While tickets were picked and called out, student helpers brought out the array of items from each auction. One of the helpers, Clara Schoenfeld, won a rather large bag of goodies. After the formal function ended at 4:00 PM, the final breakdown step was left. With hundreds of chairs, tables, and supplies from every booth, the very same people who woke up early got back to work again. One hour later, everything is reorganized and everyone can rest, enjoying the rest of their weekend.
