Claire Black

Favorite Quote: “Maybe I’m hiding behind metaphor, maybe my heart needs to break to be sure, one day I’ll wear it all on my sleeve, the insignificant with the secret unique.” -Ryan O’Neal

Claire Black is a Sophomore at UPHS. She is looking forward to emerging herself in the art of creative writing and expanding her writing techniques. She will be in Literary Magazine, as an artist and writer. Her goal during this class is to improve on containing development, coherence, and unity in her works. She hopes to grow her ability to let thoughts flow onto paper quickly and broaden her vocabulary. In addition, she aspires to fine-tune her voice and presence in her writing. She is thrilled to engage in an environment of fellow writers and creators.

Outside of school, Claire adores scouring thrift shops for unique finds, learning how to skateboard, reading historical fiction, and going on walks with friends.

After high school, she desires to become one of three possibilities: a screenplay writer, a historical fiction author, or perhaps a high school English teacher.

Five words that describe her: emotionally honest, passionate, outgoing, empathetic, and sincere.
