Madison Hutchinson is a Junior at UPHS. She is the author of the monthly comic strip and the lead editor of the Literary Magazine this year. She has been drawing since before 5 years old, and joined the Literary Magazine team as a sophomore to expand her horizons and explore new styles of drawing. She plans to go into astrophysics in college, but hopes to pursue a career in tattoo artistry as a side hustle to maintain her artistic style as a STEM major. Her goals for this year are to expand the Literary Magazine to make it more accessible and popular within the school, to extend her own personal reach through commissions and publications in art fairs, and to continue building her own art portfolio.
Sarah Pelayo is a Freshman at UPHS. She is the author of the Chapter-A-Week program. She has always enjoyed writing and multi-media art forms, and joined Journalism and then Literary Magazine to push her limits and to bridge the gap between art and academics. She wants to go into humanitarian work, but strives to be able to balance both arts and academics in whichever area she goes into. This year, she wants to expand Literary Magazinesβ outreach to become a schoolwide sensation and program universally known.Β
Cyrus Velasquez is a Senior at UPHS. He likes to bounce ideas off of the rest of the team until something sticks and keep the school up to date with developments. Cyrus joined Journalism to pursue interests in the arts while getting more involved in school culture. Although he is unsure of where his path will lead, his plan is to live a happy life true to his own definition of success. His goals for Literary Magazine are to create a relaxing, care-free environment for our pandas, and to cultivate a long lasting, positive facet of UPHS culture.
Gabriela Velasco-Oliver is a freshman at UPHS, and likes to focus on anything related to art. The way she corporates with her group is by organizing or designing the colors and the art work on this website. The reason why she joined this club is to share her experience in art to others. She has been drawing for years, talented and an expert in art. Her goals for this year's Literary Magazine is by expanding the love for art and the art work of students to the ones that are interested in art.Β
