On Friday, October 18th, University Preparatory High School (UPHS) hosted its annual Halloween dance at the NAZ church. The church was decorated with a spooky atmosphere which was supported by both the Leadership Team and the PSO. The event had numerous activities, so there was something for everyone to enjoy. Some activities included dancing to epic music, video games, card games, a costume contest, and amazing food. The dance had tacos, candy, soda, and other snacks.
Halfway through the dance, Ms. Block and Ana Maya directed the costume contest upstairs. Students had to submit a form before the dance with the specific category of costumes they wished to participate in. Anna then called the students up and everybody voted who’s costume was better. Ms. Block and Ana Maya used a crowd meter, determining the winner based on which costume got the most applause. The specific categories were, most creative, funniest, and best overall. The winners of each category were Jacob Knokles for Scariest (Mad scientist), Fioana, Amelia, and Evette (bodyguards) with Fioana’s little brother as Donald Trump, winning the funniest category. Catt Woods won the Most Original category. The dance is one of the most highly anticipated UPHS events and the most attended. All of UPHS is looking forward to it next year!
