Getting a dog is a pivotal part of one's life. Knowing how to properly train a dog will improve their life, your sanity, satisfaction, and protection. A few factors to train your dog are first to house train them; you don’t want your dog to use the bathroom just anywhere. Also, specific commands such as sit, wait, and coming back when called give the dogs freedom to do the things they like to do, like running off lead and coming with you to meet friends and family, while being safe and under control.
All dogs are different. Learning at different speeds and tailoring your training to fit your dog’s routines and personality are great! Generally, training all dogs is the same. Step one is to train your dog to minimize distractions, and always start lessons for new tricks in a quiet room in your house away from any interruptions. It’s important to break training up into short but regular sessions, so your dog doesn’t get overwhelmed. Be patient, dogs all learn at different rates so don't worry if your dog doesn't pick things up straight away! Always end with something your dog knows, so the session finishes positively. Finally, have fun! Training is a great way for you to bond with your dog! With this now in mind, go get the dog you’ve always wanted, and get to training!
