Last week University Preparatory High School (UPHS) held its annual Back to School Night event! This event took place at 5:00 pm last Thursday, August 8th. Teachers held 10-minute class presentations to discuss their curriculum. Teachers discussed with parents and students UPHS’s Panda Path Maxims, –which are maxims to guide students through high school–their expectations for learning within their classrooms, and how UPHS families can support their children and our school!
UPHS Junior, Delilah Padilla, attended Back to School Night and said that it was “very informative for the parents. My mom learned a lot about the school.”
Principal Dr. Feller opened the evening with a wonderful welcome speech, in which she discussed the upcoming school year. She talked about how important it is for staff to collaborate with parents at UPHS to make our students more successful. She also discussed our school maxism, and how they’re meant to help us cultivate a positive school culture!
Josh Curtiss, UPHS’s math and robotics teacher, attended Back to School Night, and had a wonderful time! Mr. Curtiss told us about how Back to School Night made him more excited for the upcoming school year, and how he’s “looking forward to partnering with all our new parents to help our school reach its full potential.”
While attendees of Back to School Night got a lot of informational content, they also got some fun! Taco trucks were there to provide delicious food for attendees! The class of 2025 also did their Senior Shuffleboards. Senior shuffle allows people to sponsor the graduating class, as well as be entered into a raffle to win a $100 Target gift card! Seniors got a lot of sponsors at Back to School Night!
