On Friday, August 9th, of the 2024-2025 school year, University Preparatory High School (UPHS) hosted its annual Senior Sunrise. Senior Sunrise is an event for seniors, which usually takes place on the first Friday of school. The event began with seniors going to the College of the Sequoias’ (COS) football field early in the morning, bringing breakfast, blankets, phones, and memories to make. As for UPHS, the senior experience was a tad different, but there were still awesome memories to cherish!
It started off with a dozen students meeting at the COS quad an hour early at 6:00 AM to watch the actual sunrise. Around 7:00 AM, the official event started. PSO members and UPHS teachers provided and set up breakfast foods and drinks for their students! The seniors had a choice to either sit in Y7, Y8, or outside to enjoy the morning air. Aesha Elashmawy, a senior who intended the sunrise said, “The weather was great, which made it better with friends.” Thirty minutes later, the seniors went to the COS quad and took pictures to end the morning with a nice memory for everyone!
