Construction Methods - Construction Activities

At A+ Grading, we believe that full disclosure is important in helping the public comprehensively understand our undertakings. In doing so, public confusion and disputes will be minimized. Ultimately, we believe this transparency to the public nurtures a positive community morale.

A weekly breakdown of our proposed grading activities can be found below. The proposed weekly Earthwork Schedule, Crew and Machine Utilization, and Bare Cost Estimation is given for each week. Also, a general weekly breakdown and a cumulative breakdown are included.

The Earthwork Schedule table is a breakdown of each job's haul distance, cycle time, number of cycles and the per truck and dozer. A job will employ a truck if the earth is to be transported to the waste site, and jobs involving earth moving from node to node will require a dozer.

The Crew and Machine Utilization Table is a breakdown the volume of earthwork, the path of earth being moved, the crew productivity, the job unit cost and total required per job.

Finally, the Bare Cost Estimation is a breakdown for cost per cubic meter of labour and equipment. The crew cost is simply the total sum of the labour and equipment required for each job.

Group 25 Construction Activities

Week 1

Time: Sept. 9 - Sept. 12, 2019

Weekly Cost: $113,616

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 1900 m3

Excavation will commence on the west side of the site where there is a large amount of excess soil. The excavator will load dump trucks with soil, and the trucks will haul the soil to a waste site 30 km away.

Week 2

Time: Sept. 16 - Sept. 20, 2019

Weekly Cost: $85,893

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 1435 bm3

The excavator will continue working through Section 1. Areas with the largest amount of excess soil should be completely graded by the end of week 2

Week 3

Time: Sept. 23 - Sept. 27, 2019

Weekly Cost: $125,158

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 2089 bm3

The excavator will continue working through Section 1. Access to Section 4 should be gained by the end of week 3

Week 4

Time: Oct. 8 - Oct. 11, 2019

Weekly Cost: $43,564

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 1487 bm3

The excavator will begin excavating soil in section 4. A Dozer will push soil to the required fill areas of section 4. Section 4 will be completed and access to sections 2 and 3 should be gained by the end of week 4

Week 5

Time: Oct. 14 - Oct. 18, 2019

Weekly Cost: $19,726

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 1609 bm3

The excavator will excavate excess soil from section 2, and a dozer will push soil to fill areas in sections 2 and 3

Week 6

Time: Oct. 21 - Oct. 25, 2019

Weekly Cost: $22,244

Volume of Earthwork Completed: 1130 bm3

The Excavator and dozer will complete the grading for sections 1 and 2. The site should be completely graded by the end of week 6.

Work Schedule

The following schedule shows the duration of the project. Green days indicate working days, and blue days indicate holidays where no work will take place. Our crew will work weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
