The project is located in Guangzhou which experiences heavy rain and wind. Construction will take place outside of the stormy season to minimize delays. There is also a possibility of typhoons during the stormy season, which must also be prepared for.
To mitigate noise disruption we will be using new, quieter equipment as well as completing the loudest operations outside of school hours.
To minimize dust we will have water trucks brought in to spray down the soil on dry, windy days. We will also be monitoring air conditions at stations upwind and downwind of the site to ensure air quality is compliant with the applicable regulations. Lastly, to minimize soil runoff to adjacent properties and into the sewer system, silt fences will be installed along the site boundary.
Our plan is to limit construction traffic to the west side of the school. This is done so the project does not disrupt school traffic along the east road infront of the school's main entrance. As well, this approach will keep dangerous heavy equipment and trucks away from the high pedestrian areas that are also located along the east side of the site. We will have signage, barricades and flaggers to direct traffic for any incoming and outgoing construction vehicles.
