Construction Warning Sign -- Construction warning sign should be put on the nearby roads to inform other drivers of ongoing construction and increased volume of heavy vehicles on roads. When drivers see those signs, they can reduce speed or find another route to avoid the potential danger.
Change Working Hours -- Rush hours typically happen at 7-9 am and 5-6 pm. We plan to reschedule workers’ working hours, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to avoid hours. This can decrease the probability of congestion and maintain normal hourly traffic volume.
Air Condition
Frequent Watering -- To reduce the amount of dust spreading in campus, workers should frequently water the site, especially near the gate area. There should be at least twice watering per day.
Cleaning System for Vehicles -- Once a week, all the vehicles should be cleaned using the temporary cleaning system on site to reduce dust on roads.
Noise
Reduce Truck Speed -- There are a lot of factors that influence traffic noise. However, with the number of machines fixed, the only factor we can change is the speed of vehicles. Based on research, one truck travelling at 80 kph will sound as loud as 28 cars travelling at 80 kph. So we will keep trucks speed below 50 kph to reduce the noise level.
Noise Barrier -- Noise shielding can reduce the noise of property by 10-15 dBA. So noise barrier will be built around the construction site. Also, forest near the campus can also absorb some noise.
Safety
Construction Fence -- Build construction fences around construction site to prevent students and teachers accidentally entering the site.
Warning Sign in Campus -- Warning sign can alert people in campus of potential danger and be careful of the site.
Enforce Safety Standards to All Workers -- Inform all the workers safety standards they should follow before the grading job. Also, keep all the records and plan weekly meetings to correct all the problems found during the construction and award workers with best performance.
