Earth Hauling Productivity
Earth Hauling Productivity
The production rate of each earth-moving job within Work Package 1 and Work Package 2 is shown in the tables below, with the following assumptions:
- Work Package 1 only utilizes the dozer, as the distance between cut and fill nodes are short (20 metres)
- Work Package 2 only utilizes the truck, since cut volumes are transported off-site as soon as the truck is filled and the travel distance to the waste site is 30km
- Productivity rates in the tables below assumes only one dozer or one truck
- An efficiency factor of 0.75 is applied to calculate the productivity
- The truck is assumed to travel at 24km/h for 30km one-way to move the cut volumes to the off-site waste collection yard
Crew and Machine Utilization
Crew and Machine Utilization
For the project, we had two excavators and had to determine the number of trucks/dozers used to utilize our crew and machinery. The values for each Work Package and job can be found in tables below.
- For each job in Work Package 1, two dozers were available. Some jobs used two while others only used one dozer
- The crew productivity for each job in Work Package 1 was govern by the lowest productivity between the excavators and the dozers
- For each job in Work Package 2, 12 trucks were available and every jobs used all of them
- The crew productivity for each job was govern by the lowest productivity between the excavator and the truck. However, the truck governed for all jobs in Work Package 2.
- The fill factor was 0.83
