Sir Thomas Blane Hunter
Scottish businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. A long way from selling trainers from the back of a van, in April 2007, Hunter was reported in the Sunday Times Rich List as Scotland’s first ever home-grown billionaire.
Allison Kirkby
Kirkby was born in Scotland in 1967 and earned a HND in accounting from Glasgow Caledonian University and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA).
She qualified as a chartered management accountant 1990 while working at Guinness. She also worked at Procter & Gamble for 20 years before moving to Virgin Media.
In January 2024 she will be appointed as CEO of the BT Group becoming the first woman to hold the position.
