Lesson 1: Sequencing
Read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey by Lucille Colandro. Review the order of events with this flip chart/activity on the board (leave this up so students can use this as a reference). Have the students then retell and work on their sequencing skills with this activity.
Modification: If you feel it may be too difficult for the students to cut out the feathers and turkey then glue together, you can still print out the feathers from the above activity, but then have them glue the feathers onto THIS turkey instead.
Lesson 2: Intro to World Book Early Learning
Project the World Book Early Learning online resource for students to see. Explain how to locate the site in ClassLink. Show students how to access the Stories and how they can be read aloud. Plan a Concentration game as a group.
*Reminder: If you are going to have kinder students log into Chromebooks during your lesson time, you may want to log students into the library Chromebooks before this lesson. That way their name will appear on the home screen for an easier log in. You could also use their classroom Chromebook cart.

Lesson 3: Characters and Setting
Read Run, Turkey, Run by Diane Mayr or How to Catch a Turkey by Adam Wallace Discuss the characters and setting for the story as well. Have students complete the If I had a turkey, I would feed it . . . . page.
Lesson 4: iPad Introduction
This lesson will prep students for our Hour of Code activities in December. Go through slide show with students on how we use iPads in our library, how to close out apps, power on/off, storage when finished, etc. Then they can practice what they learned by drawing a picture on Hello Crayon app on the ipad.
