Lesson 1-3: Intro to Coding with Scratch Jr
Students will be learning to code this month using Scratch Jr. T he first lesson is a group lesson that introduces coding and an interactive coding activity on the panel. Week 2-3 are lessons that students code on their own. Lessons are laid out in the slides provided. Students will use iPads to access Scratch Jr . Tip- assign students an ipad number so they can come back to their work and projects. Scratch Jr. does not have accounts.
Lesson 3: Questioning with Seasonal Stories
Watch the story Olive the Other Reindeer by J. Otto Siebold on Tumblebooks. Ask questions about why Olive wanted to be a reindeer. Ask the students what they would do if they were a reindeer? Tell them they are going to write about that and draw a picture to go with it. Reindeer story starter
