Donate Life Design

Artist Statement:

For this assignment, I had to develop a mission statement for a Donate Life design. I also had to create an image according to the chosen theme for my mission statement. I chose my theme about sparks and fire to represent how you can "fuel" someone else's life by donating.

In this assignment, I only used two materials. I used various colored pencils, and some markers to give vibrance to certain areas. The Design was created on Mixed Media paper.

I started this assignment by developing my mission statement. Once I had done that, I had to decide what my visual was going to be. After considering a fire, a match, and a sparkler as the focal point, I chose the match. I then used lots of colored pencils, and a few markers to create this design.
