Photoshopped Self-Portrait

Artist Statement:

For this assignment, we had to choose a portrait (of either people or an animal) from one of our own photos, and digitally edit it. For this assignment, as I tend to work on pets, I decided to take a turn and do a self-portrait. I chose this specific photo because it is a high-quality image, and I like this photo from my past.

The only material I needed for this project was my laptop. From this, I got my photo reference, and the photoshop app allowed me to do all of the digital design.

I used two digital layers to create this work. The bottom layer was my chosen image. I used the eyedrop tool to match colors, the pencil tool to draw shapes, and the paint bucket tool to fill in large spaces. With all of these tools, I was able to create a picture out of digital shapes and turn them into a piece of digital art.
