Donate Life Design

Artist Statement:

For this piece of artwork, we were supposed to find inspiration from the Donate Life organization. I thought of my Aunt, depicted above, who was in need of organ transplants for most of her life. I chose to focus on this in my design, so I talked about family in my artwork.

My original sketch used a fine-tipped sharpie on some drawing paper. Later, I transferred the design to Photoshop to add the text and all of the colors using various tools.

I first took a photo I had (legally) and traced the shapes on it. I went over that in Sharpie marker. After I had done this, I transferred the sketch to Photoshop, where I edited it more. I added text and color here, then I printed everything into a final copy.
