The recent merging of SFC and Swedish promotion visions heralds exciting times for European MMA fans. Looking to raise the bar, the new Vision team put their first card together in the Kelvin hall on Saturday 28th April.
The evening was headlined by Scottish bantamweight James “Thaison” Doolan, who carried a European No 6 ranking into the bout with Swedish standout David Haggstrom.
Sadly for the partisan crowd Haggstrom was able to outpoint Doolan on the three judges cards over 5 rounds to take the belt and join the ranks of fellow Swedes Jonathan Westin and Nicolas Musoke as title holders in Scottish promotions. The level of MMA in Sweden is clearly of a very high level and hopefully through association and regular competition the Scottish scene will benefit from the Vision teams relationship with the Swedes.

Popular Glasgow Flyweight Brian Hyslop faced Declan “Kid Dynamite” Williams in the Co Main event for the new vision flyweight strap. Coming off his first defeat Hyslop was looking to regain the momentum which saw him shoot up the flyweight rankings since turning pro last year.
“Hissy” out-boxed Williams throughout their 5 round encounter and delivered powerful ground and pound when he decided to take the fight to the deck. Although not as easy fight, Hyslop was never in trouble and his performance warranted the 50-45 scorecards returned by all three judges.

In a domestic contender bout, to determine who will face the winner of Bobby McVittie’s upcoming title defence against Jani Lax, Adam Stevenson faced Allan Macauley in the lightweight division.
Both combatants seemed content to trade on their feet and did exactly that during the first two rounds. However, in the third Stevenson scored a nice takedown before securing his fourth consecutive armbar win.

Kampaseth made few mistakes against the taller Scotsman and scored numerous takedowns throughout the fight. Regardless of being on his back Cullen stayed busy with elbows and triangle attempts. The judges delivered a unanimous draw after three rounds of action
