First off congrats on your win at the weekend, can you just give us a wee brake down of the fight ?
The event was total combat 48. It was in the stadium of light in Sunderland. My training has been top notch for this fight. My opponent Gareth Jackson caught me with a head kick right from the start. I brushed it off, then hit him with a superman punch follow up by a left hook and then a few flurry’s of punches. We then grappled for a bit exchanging knees. Then I managed to take him down lock up an anaconda choke. I tried to Finnish it standing but couldn't so I then managed to roll him and get the finish. At 1:27 in the first round.
Where do you train, how often and in particular what strengths from your team , lead you to your victory?
I train at the lions den in Old Kilpatrick. I train six days a week but leading up to the title fight I'd been in doing strength work at six in the morning. We have a great bunch of guys who come to the den, all of whom have helped me massively by smashing me about on a regular basis. Haha it's always a learning experience at the den. There is Facebook page for the lions den.

What's next , when do you defend the title?
Next for me is vision again in September hopefully I can get matched up. Great show!! I would like to go for other titles and I'll defend my belt when total combat come calling. I just love being in that cage.
One of the big things in MMA just now is dropping as many weight classes as possible, do you see your self dropping down a class for a greater advantage?
I mostly fight middleweight but I've dropped to welterweight twice. Which I did enjoy. So I see my self dropping there again.
What’s your thoughts on Scottish MMA and the strength of the various teams/camps etc competing today? Do you think more and more folks will be travelling beyond our borders for competition?
My thoughts on Scottish MMA are that it's going from strength to strength there are more gyms and shows starting all the time. The big two being On-Top and newly formed Vision, which are both excellent and could rival any other British or European shows with the class of fights they have. Fighting in England is good with fighters being able to travel about a bit. So yeah I think more fighters will travel there for matches.
Finally and advice for anyone getting into MMA etc?
My advice for anyone getting into MMA would be, try it!! work hard and you could do anything you put your mind too.
Also do you have any sponsors , websites, twitter etc for folks to contact etc.
Would like to thank my sponsors at On-Top who provides me with all my supplements, and fight gear.
Excellent
Cheers Scott
