- Hello David can you tell us a little about yourself (Short Bio, fight record, style , team, etc)
- I have a professional record of 9 wins with 5 losses fighting from Gladiatorial combat fight team.
- Your next fight is at Made4thecage 12 down in England for a LW title, Hows your fight camp going ?
- Fight camp is a lot different this time as I am work with a lot more high level guys in terms of isolated disciplines. I have access to some great facilities and coaching throughout Glasgow.and everyone has been so helpful withing the Scottish martial arts community.
- Recently you competed in and won your first Boxing match, what was the thinking behind training in and competing in a solo combat sport such as Boxing ?
- Boxing was a great way for me to get in shape after a year out and take me out of my comfort Zone. Theirs a smaller risk of injury in boxing compared to MMA meaning I can go straight into another fight camp. It's something I've always wanted to do as my Granda was a boxer so it just made sense for me.
- Your the Headcoach at Gladiators MMA, you have some real home grown prospects, hows the team progressing ?
- I get a real buzz from watching my students progress as martial artists but more importantly as people. I have some amazing prospects at the moment. The future is very exciting for us.
- Know as someone who travels for quality training , where's the best place you’ve been and where is next and why?
- Phuket Top team was by far the most productive preparation I've had. The cost of living in Thailand means your nutrition doesn't suffer. The coaches and sparring partners are very helpful. You have a great balance between High level Thai guys, great wrestlers,Jiu jitsu coaches and MMA fighters. If I was to travel again then it would be with PTT
- A seasoned Pro and well respected member of the Scottish MMA scene, what do think Scotland has to work on to take our athletes to the next level ?
- Scottish MMA needs Unity with a bit more domestic competition. The local MMA scene is running dry in terms of match ups. We're low on good wrestlers which stems from the lack of Government funding as well as the attitude of most Scot's who think it's just cuddling. A lot of people outside MMA including other combat sports have a negative opinion towards the Mixed martial arts as they may see it as a threat or try branding it as barbaric. I feel that we are slowly but surely moving in the right direction. It will just take one Scot to get on a UFC or Bellator card to open the door for others. We have some great talent some of which haven't been discovered yet.
- Any words for your opponent?
- You're my best friend's new hero for the ten fight record padding streak. Some mate!
- Where can people get info to train MMA with you?
- If anyone would like to train with our amazing team, coaches and facilities then have a look at www.mmaglasgow.com or www.newlifeglasgow.com
