Like anybody else, who grew up through the modern educational system, where logical thinking and proof from some laboratory have been given the top most acceptability; at the same time carries some respect to his/her social, cultural or religious tradition of the family and community background and also have some respect to the scriptures they value; and along with may be also having some quest about spirituality; a simple question throws us to an uncomfortable zone, how all the different plants and animals arrived in this beautiful blue planet ? May be we were trying to seek the answer all along in a wrong way, is it possible for both the school of thoughts to be true at the same time ?
Our science books taught us the Darwin theory of evolution, which tells mutation or random alteration of species anatomy in collaboration with natural selection process or survival for the fittest worked together on the living being on earth for long long time and ended up with such a diversified living creatures all around the world. So different species saw their first sunlight just because of natures accidental alteration, then nature just handpicked the best and the fittest one ! Doesn’t it sound too simplistic ? then if we ask, why it is not happening in front of our eyes, the answer is, it is a very very slowly process so you can notice the changes only after long time will pass.
On the other side many theories claimed by many different so called religions, I am not going into details to it, is difficult to satisfy a rational mind to agree with and get convinced resonating our understanding of the physical world. Most of the time those theories hardly inspires us to join our voices to make it little louder, but people sometime do that too .
Now with our powerful brains which nature has offered us through evaluation or whatever way, lets first try to analyze how correct is our scientific prophesy, Can simply accidental random alteration of genes produce such a perfect living creature ? The amount of engineering design went into each and every single species surprises and outperform the best minds in that domain. It is hard to believe for an engineer that, it just happened by accident, its mathematically impossible. I heard this example somewhere, it is like keep beating a car madly and achieve a shape of Mercerize Benz, even after, knowing Mercerize car is more desirable, it is difficult to agree with this idea. And this is what has happened again and again and brought new new spiciness under the sun with new new engineering marvels, if that is not enough there is no reference to compare with throughout the process. It is impossible to conclude putting all sorts of permutation and combination theories together, that the random alteration of genes can produce human gene from a fish gene just by increasing number or draws other way of saying by giving time. There must be some premeditative alteration some direction need to be there throughout the process. It simply cannot happen by accident.
Randomness of altering genes and natural selection are two pillar stone of Darwin’s theory but it couldn’t give much clue about the force whose deliberate initiative must have been contributed in the process. One thing is common for both Darwin and religious believes, both of hypothesis gives credit to something external of the living creature, which influences to alter its anatomy, they didn’t talk about any role of the living creature itself to this process, what if some initiative, some conscious effort from the living creature itself sparking the process, will it be too irrational ?
It is not possible for us to know what was happening to the living creatures psycho-physical level, over the long period of time on this earth, fossils cannot tell us that, but we can try to understand what is happening today to us to the homo sapiens to the thinking animals, can we really play a role to our anatomical changes ? By now even that modern science admits, mind can control body, physiology or anatomy.
Will it be too absurd to think ? when a nature of a living creature churns a thought of expressing itself little better than the way it is at present, slowly it can changes its anatomy to that direction, so values of security; appetites; lusts and passions of the living creatures are playing an important role in the process of evolution.
All different species are simply outcome of same consciousness tried to express itself through different types of nature then evolve through an effort of better way to express themselves in this world and their desire or will power modifies their anatomy, may be that is how we got such a diversified such a beautiful living world. But again if will power of an individual entity played the important role for the metamorphism an entity, how the entire species modified themselves in a particular way ? then probably, we have to think little differently, Is it possible for a group to have same wish or Is it possible to get engaged for a large number of a particular species to meditate on same desire ? Answer is off course yes, for that we need not to look for any missing link, it is happening every single minute in the human world. Somehow thought process of one individual becomes a part of a group and vice versa or somehow the cluster mind works, ask any modern marketing guru, ask any MNC marketing executive or a politician, to reveal their secret how desperately they are trying to tap the collective desire of public. But they also know by heart, it works without any rational or pre notion of absolute good or bad. That’s why creatures ended up with all different species based upon its unique way to express themselves what they considered as desirable, not all ended up as human beings as we claim, homo sapience are the ultimate product of evolution in today’s world.
Let me try to find an evaluation happening on modern man in today’s world, we all know average human height is increasing, and we quickly conclude its because of better nutrition but personally I have some doubt to this conclusion, we all know, in this world taller is better from finding partner to everywhere till you cramp in the Airline seat :) , who knows that may be contributing to this phenomenon, what is happening in front of our own eyes, average kids are taller than their parents. Then how our brain and mind is altering today ? only god knows ( oops I said the G word! )
If Darwin theory tells nature is responsible for all the diversities of the living creatures, religious believes claim it is the GOD who created everything, I think both are correct, if we consider the aspiration of the living being to do express themselves little better is coming from the consciousness or god inside, and the natures selection process worked together to give us the living world of today, then we probably may conclude, god and nature both have contributed for creating all the life form ( Jeeva) ….as I heard in my growing up days…… সব কেষ্টের জীব sab keshter jib ( all are manifested from the consciousness ).
