Prep Work

1) View AAP Webinar Providing Evidence-Based Medical Care to Immigrant Children (Important tip -Scroll down to Dec 2016) where Drs Janine Young and Julie Linton discuss providing evidence-based medical care to immigrant children. Specifically, they review pertinent background regarding the care of immigrant children and recommendations regarding comprehensive medical evaluation of newly arriving immigrant children, in addition to identifying strategies to integrate care of immigrant children into a family-centered medical home.

2) Review Immigrant Child Health Toolkit from AAP. In particular, the section on clinical care.

3) Review this 10 minute video on the mental health of newcomer children and adolescents
