*The clinic is on the 11th floor of the CLSB tower. Entering through the doors on the corner of Moody and Meade is easiest. You can park in the lot in the building or tram down and walk to the CLSB. The Clinic can validate parking if needed.

Experience: The clinic starts seeing patients at 9:00 am. Residents need to come by 8:45 am as this will give you time to get organized, put away your coats and backpacks, etc. The dress code is “regular”, no need for anything special. You will generally shadow one of the Dental residents that are seeing patients. The goal is for you to see routine dental visits and learn how to better examine young children’s mouths, understand when you should refer your patients for dental care, and appreciate the importance of oral health.

The focus should be on learning to identify caries, understanding the role of fluoride, and being able to respond to typical questions about dental trauma. You should not spend your time watching sedated dental procedures. You can ask the residents and faculty about questions that they routinely get from parents that might also be asked of their pediatric medical provider.
