Experience

1) Start with an intro meeting for an hour with one of the NICH staff. He or she will give you an overview of the program and how the Staff bridge the gap between the physicians and the patients and the Healthcare needs of their child. This will be conducted in the CDRC building in room 2115K at OHSU (unless notified otherwise in meeting invitation). Please allow yourself ample time to find parking and locate the correct room on the 2nd floor of the CDRC building. I would give yourself an extra window of at least 15-20 minutes as parking is limited on that side of campus. I would recommend paying for a daily pass and parking in Lot 40, as that is right across the street from the CDRC. (Street parking is available but at a first come first serve basis and they fill up quickly throughout the morning)

2) All Team Meeting (Location CDRC 3105). You will get to join the NICH team for their weekly team meeting. Where they will go over Patient care updates and new patient referrals. Our clinical meetings are where you will get a better understanding of the NICH Program from the interventionists, and the work they do to support these families.

4 (maybe) If the NICH staff is able you will join them on a home visit after the Morning Meeting. You will get to meet and see first hand how the staff interacts with their patient in their home environment. These visits are special, as the family is agreeing to let us into their lives to see the impact that NICH has had on their behalf.
