Chapter Three Comments
-This chapter focuses on The Four (except Jin) and their closest allies.
-The first paragraph, which describes the city of Kyoto, was rehashed from one of my discontinued fics, The Path of Fate.
-Daitenshi is Japanese for 'Archangel.' The nickname was inspired by the events of the Mass Effect series where one of the squad members, Garrus Vakarian, becomes a vigilante name Archangel.
-The various whispers in Ivy's head are a mix of both Shao Kahn and Nightmare... with the final quote coming from Dhalsim.
-The way I started the scene with Ryu, Ken, and Julia wasn't initially planned in my summaries. Originally, they were supposed to be on their way back to the mansion by Ken's limo where Liu Kang was waiting. However, I ended up getting stuck on the scene for a couple of days... suddenly, I got a burst of inspiration while thinking about the fact that the three had planned to take a trip around the world after the Universal War... thus this scene was born. Only a few things from the original summary were added and molded to fit with what I ended up writing.
-Ken is hold an old brochure for the city of Casablanca and mentions (due to the brochure's age), “I'm surprised Humphrey Bogart isn't on the cover of this one.” This references the actor's most famous 1942 movie, Casablanca.
-Ken mentions how he and Ryu used to play the Nintendo on an old TV during their training days. This references a scene from Street Fighter: Assassin's Fists.
-Liu Kang assures that he and Zafina won't argue like Raiden and Rose had during the events of Chishio No Me. The mention was to immediately assure readers that the bickering kind of arguing will not occur in this story.
-Ryu and Julia's quiet moment after Liu Kang left was added at the last minute to show that they are still a couple despite Ken mentioning it earlier. This is more or so to ease the minds of the readers, especially since they're the most popular couple in the series.
-Kenshi's scenes ended up being quite long due to taking the time to explain his portion of the story as well as Alex Walker's... thus their scenes were split into two for this chapter.
-Originally, I was going to have Alex be honorably discharged from the military, but I wasn't sure how that would work if I decided to have her return to Special Forces in a future date. Thus, I decided to just have her resign in order to leave that option open.
-The joke involving the 'suspicious stowaway' was a nod to how Alex ended up at the Blood Tournament back in Chishio No Me.
