Chapter Eleven Comments
-Between every chapter of this fic and its prequels, this chapter is the longest to date with a grand total of 42 pages! Under normal circumstances, this chapter would've been split into two, but wasn't due to the goal of wanting to start the actual story's tournament at Chapter 15.
-A majority of the new and current chosen ones make appearances in this chapter.
-This chapter marks Fujin's final appearance in MSK.
-The decision to add Miharu Hirano into the fic at the last minute, as a minor character, was simply to give Xiaoyu a tag team partner for the tournament as everyone else was already covered, as hinted in this chapter.
-I originally planned to mention Kitana's shock during Liu Kang's visit in this chapter. Due to a review I received, I made even more emphasis on that moment here while forgoing their talk about what to expect at the tournament.
-The Earthrealm Faction leader mentioned in this chapter, Seiji, made a previous appearance in Chapter 99 of ASB.
-This chapter, for the first time, explains Jax's absence during the Blood Tournament (and one that wasn't intended until after MKX was released). This moment also marks the first time one of the MKX newcomers is mentioned in the series.
-The reunion between Cammy, Wagner, and Guile is similar to their reunion in the beginning of CNM.
-The part with Cyrax confronting Johnny Cage was added at the last minute as I realized people would ask why he didn't demand his eight bucks back after mentioning it a lot in ASB.
-Johnny Cage calling Cyrax 'Bumblebee,' references the character from the Transformers franchise.
-To save a little writing space, I combined Raven and C. Viper's originally-separated scenes to be written from Raven's point of view.
-The four Manji Clan members accompanying Yoshimitsu; Zivis is a minor OC who previously appeared in ASB. Sakon and Ukon are actual mentioned characters from the Soulcalibur universe. Tajna was recently created to provide a tag team partner for Zivis as well as presenting an opportunity to explore what life is like for a newcomer to the Manji Clan.
-The mention of Sakon and Ukon's background officially confirms this series's Yoshimitsu to be a combination of the Yoshimitsu of Soulcalibur V and the Tekken series.
-The interaction between Haggar and Alex was based on the latter's Capcom Fighting Jam ending.
-Guy mentioned how Manhattan and Metro City are 'too close in proximity to each other' is a bit of a joke considering how Metro City is very heavily based on Manhattan.
-Baek and Marshall subtly mention their past in this scene and explains why they have respect for each now as hinted back in ASB. More of this moment will be explored in future chapters, as Baek promises Hwoarang.
-Originally, Ermac was to appear in Chapter 8 alongside Bo' Rai Cho and Li Mei, but his introduction was delayed after his story in MKX was hinted at. I also delayed his introduction at a time when I thought I would have the first 10 chapters out before MKX was released, thus giving me more time to find out Ermac's story in that game... which is, unfortunately, very lacking. At the time of the chapter's publication, I was still trying to figure out Ermac's direction in this series with the goal of nodding to his 2nd timeline role while maintaining his 1st timeline story. This was why nothing about what happened to him after the Universal War was explained in this chapter.
-The Outworld city of Z'unkahrah is a city mentioned in the MKX comics.
