Chapter Fifteen Comments
-This is the second half of what was supposed to be one chapter.
-This chapter took nearly 5 months to write due to the following; very occasional writer's block, real-life rearing its head more it should've... I did have most of the chapter done before the holiday season took over, so that didn't help either...
-As a refresher to those who may not known, Shura one of the featured 'bonus characters' from Soulcalibur IV. Her coming into the story is somewhat similar to Ruby Heart's appearance in the series.
-Due to the length of this chapter, certain scenes either had to be combined together, cut down to a character's point of view or just mentioned.
-Haggar mentions his friends 'Carlos,' who was a playable character in Final Fight 2.
-The story of how Julia became Jaycee is essentially the same as it was from her Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ending, but with the tournament in this story thrown in as well as a better explained reason. The reason to have Julia dressed as Jaycee for this story came when it was decided to have her and R. Mika tag team in the tournament.
-The humor scene with Sub-Zero, Smoke, and 'the chatty school girls,' as Smoke calls them, was actually one of the first scenes planned for this fic once it was decided that Smoke would revert back to being mostly 'human.' The girls gushing over Smoke's looks is a nod to real fangirl-like reactions to Smoke's human look once it was revealed for MK9.
-When planning the tag teams, the last four characters on the cast list came down to Yoshimitsu, Jade, Ivy, and Christie. After playing around with combinations, and getting real-life advice as well, it made the most sense that it would be Yoshimitsu & Ivy and Jade & Christie in the end. There's also Jade's clear hatred of Ivy, and Ivy & Christie or Yoshimitsu & Christie would be pretty out-there, so... the final combination was picked (and, of course, explained in full within this chapter).
-Originally, back in Chapter 11, I had Raven spot Crimson Viper at the Nagato port, but didn't know who she was. After writing out this chapter, I realized that it made sense for him to actually know who C. Viper is for better approach. After writing this chapter, I changed the scene in Chapter 11 slightly to reflect this.
-Tag teaming Sub-Zero and Scorpion is a huge nod to not just Sub-Zero's ending in MK9, but also to them 'burying the hatch' in MKX's story mode. The 'tea party' mention is a nod to their MKX cutscene in story mode.
