Biography

Kai was once a student of Liu Kang, who taught him the ways of the Shaolin warrior. He had assisted in the fight against Shinnok alongside his mentor, Raiden, and Fujin. Since then, Kai had wandered Earth on a quest for self-enlightenment, only returning to the Shaolin Temple once after learning to Liu Kang's death. During the Universal War, Kai tried to seek Raiden in hopes of assisting, but when he reached the Sky Temple, it looked abandoned. The only life it seemed to have was a faint blue glow from within it's structure.

A year later, Liu Kang's spirit approached Kai, who was aware of the current war. Liu Kang asked him to enter the Shikoken Tournament and help fight against the new threat to peace. Kai decides to put his journey on hold and help his mentor once again.
