-A Trip to Italy

Each year, the foreign language classes plan a trip to a country outside of the U.S. that the average student probably has not yet visited . This summer they will visit the beautiful country of Italy. For those who do not know, Italy is located in southern Europe. (Please see the map below.)

If students would like to go on the tour, they should notify the French teacher, Ms. Monica Emeran. Ms. Emeran was the person in charge of the previous trip to France that 14 of our students participated in last April.

Last year Ms. Emeran announced that there will be a trip to of South Africa in 2013. However, “The trip was changed from South Africa to Italy because it was too expensive, and with the economic problems many people cannot afford it,” said Ms. Emeran.

Italy was chosen by the students in the French class and the travel club students from the previous year. They each expressed their interest in touring Italy as the next travel site, and that is how the decision was made. Additionally, “It’s always good for students to visit different places and learn about different history,” said Ms.Emeran.

For students, the total cost of the trip to Italy is $3,874, plus tips and the lunches; for the adults, the total cost is $4,239 plus tips and lunches . You may think that this trip is very expensive, but it’s a reasonable cost when you add up everything you are getting.

This trip last 10 days that the students will be traveling all around Italy and visiting many different sights.

When asked about the trip last year, Alana Barrow said, “It was amazing. I would go back and do it all again.”
