Diana filia Telemachus follower of Tremere (as of the end of Summer 1217)
Ever since her selection for apprenticehood, Diana has been groomed as the heir to the chair of the Lunarian. The House has several reasons for pursuing this strategy. First, they dislike being without influence in the Greater Alps, which has so many powerful magi and which is so close to the Tremere heartland. Second, the significance of a breakthrough in the Lunar Project is understood, and House Tremere does not trust the other Houses to use this power wisely, for the good of the Order. Finally, some senior members of the House see the Project as a way to bring the Order together; were the Project to succeed, the Order would become nearly invulnerable, and this would provide an opportunity for many small concerns which have distracted Hermetic magi to be put aside in favor of a new order.
Diana, however, was never consulted on this matter and, being naturally very willful and angry, resents her lack of consent even if she understands the necessity of the policy. She entirely agrees that House Tremere should be in charge of the Lunar Project -- she just doesn't see why the chosen one had to be her.
Because the Lunar Project is so isolated and Diana was never expected to fight alongside other Tremere in the House's traditional manner, her training was unusually focused. In all ways not relating to her specialized field, she is an inferior maga, a fact which galls her to no end. She has struggled hard to overcome this weakness, and part of that involves taking an apprentice. Diana is desperate to prove that she is her own person, and performing the tasks expected of mature magi -- developing a Talisman, binding a familiar, and teaching an apprentice -- allow her to feel that she is more than a lab rat, a fate she never wanted.
Diana compensates for her comparatively weak training with thorough preparation. She uses Hermetic Astrology to determine the ideal place and hour; she uses Potent Magic to create spells which capitalize on Form/Material sympathetic bonuses; and she combines this with her Cyclic Magic, acting when the Moon is full, giving her added power. Like most Tremere who Certamen, she is an expert in four Arts; thanks to her sympathy with lunar magic, which controls the tides and emotions, and is constantly changing, those Arts are Muto, Rego, Aquam and Mentem.
Diana is hated by almost all Alpine magi who know her. Part of this is old resentment against the Tremere, founded in the Sundering and nursed by the Tribunal's many influential Tytalus magi. But she also defied Tribunal custom by dueling higher-ranking magi when she claimed her apprentice, Breandan. Breandan is the grandson of Archmage Busiran scholae Tytali, a resident of Hibernia, and was fought over due to his political connections and lineage. Alienating the archmagi of the Alps was all part of Diana's plan to rig the Ostracism vote at the Regional Tribunal meeting of 1208, be cast out of her position as Heir to the Lunarian Chair, and finally become her own master. Unfortunately for her, the plan collapsed due tp Breandan's well-meaning efforts to protect his domina from ostracism, and she is now bitterly resolved to her fate.
Diana had two major projects to complete while Breandan was her apprentice. First, she needed to develop Spectral Quinreme and secure a reliable arcane connection to a barge large enough to transport her and a small army around the Alps. Second, she wanted to create a 12th-magnitude version of Alacrity of the Huntress, a spell which permanently enhanced Dexterity, the characteristic associated with the moon. She's now completed both these things and has transcribed Alacrity of the Huntress onto a casting tablet to make it easier to cast. She's using her vis allowance from Shadow of the Moon (30 pawns a year) to cast this spell on herself until it can no longer benefit her. She used it twice in 1216 and again in 1217, and can cast the spell only once more on herself. She has begun martial weapon training, to better utilize her new Dexterity.

Familiar: Diana's familiar is Penumbra, a white wolf of Tremere lineage. He has the stats from HoH:TL p.129, but his Size is 0. He has Int +1 and Magic Theory 4 (10).
Talisman: Diana's Talisman is a silver (+5 lycanthropes) wand (+4 to control things at a distance), adorned with a crystal tip (+5 for water-related effects) and a star ruby (+5 to control occult entities) in the pommel.
Other Items: Diana carries a skull fragment which once belonged to the captain of Caligula's pleasure barge, long sunk at Lake Nemi, a famous and sacred site known as the Mirror of Diana. To bring the barge into existence, she first calls the ghost of the captain with Incantation of Summoning the Dead and commands him to set sail. Then she uses Spectral Quinreme to make the vessel usable by mortals. The ship has ten sets of oars and is 240 feet long, its decks decorated with marble palaces, statues of Isis, and a large loading crane. Lead pipes provide hot and cold running water, though because it is all ghostly, taking a bath is an unnerving experiencer for anyone not used to it. To assist with the casting of Spectral Quinreme, Diana has a small silver token in the shape of a ship's rudder, which she wears as an amulet around her neck.
Among her personal library is a casting tablet for the 12th magnitude version of Alacrity of the Huntress, engraved on a sheet of silver.
