The Wizard's Castle was created by Polumeta using a casting tablet brought from the Alps by Alfeva. It is round with 8 towers. Six of these are identical to the towers formed by Conjuring the Wizard's Tower: 60 feet high with twenty foot basements, thirty feet around. The last two towers are only 40 feet high and flank the gatehouse, which is 40 feet high and faces south, towards Lake Lugh. The towers and gatehouse are connected by a stone wall 30 feet high and about 18 feet thick. In the center of the castle yard is a Great Hall which is 40 feet by 40 feet by 40 feet. Workshops have been built along the inner wall, including a smithy, silversmithy, and a place for stonemasonry and tailoring. These workshops are two stories, reaching about two thirds of the way up the castle walls, and craftsmen sleep on the upper stories.
The six wizard's towers can be numbered clockwise, from the gatehouse, with #1 to the left of the gatehouse and #6 to the right. They are named by the magus who chooses to occupy them.
Polumeta's Tower: Polumeta has constructed her lab on the second floor of tower 1, close to the water so that she can implement a hydraulic system if necessary. Like Alfeva's laboratory, the spiral stair leads into her laboratory. Unlike Alfeva's laboratory, Polumeta's lab is clearly marked as a sanctum. The lowest level of Polumeta's tower is her studio, set up to show off some of her prized future creations. Her private quarters sit directly above her laboratory, reducing transit time but potentially putting her living space in danger in the event of a laboratory emergency.
Tower two has been reserved for Cernunnos.
The Ghost Tower: Innocentius has placed his laboratory on the fifth floor of tower 3, his family's private quarters on the sixth floor (with the best view), and the fourth floor will have an area for entertaining guests, dining, and a spare bedroom (unfurnished at this time). Innocentius keeps the covenant's vis stores in his sanctum, on the top floor of this tower.
Tower four has been reserved for Myrna. Aine's hospital is the ground floor of this tower; Aine sleeps in a small chamber adjoining the hospital.
The Tower of the Four Seasons: Alfeva has constructed her lab on the top floor of tower five. Accessed by the spiral stair, the door from the stair is not marked as a sanctum. It is spacious and airy with big windows and a commanding view, but undecorated.
Tower Tremere: Victor Autolycus has claimed the sixth tower, to the immediate right of the gatehouse. He has yet to construct a lab, but his sanctum is on the fifth floor.
The gatehouse to the castle is also home to Samson's laboratory and sanctum, which combined occupy the top floor.
This is a four story structure. Most of the bottom floor is a single large hall filled with benches and tables. The high table is at the far end, and it is here that the magi and custos dine and where they receive guests.
The council chamber, with the library, is on the top floor of the great hall.
This two story stone tower, 20' by 20', was repaired soon after the magi arrived on the Hill. It is located on the southeast side of the Hill, at the end of a stone causeway which leads from the south road. Donal's Watch is named after a grog who died fighting Nemesis, and his name and that of Edmund (a casualty of a macgnimartha raid in the summer of 1220) are inscribed on a cornerstone of the tower. The tower has a single wooden door on the ground floor, no windows on the ground floor and only narrow arrow slits on the second, a wooden second floor, and a peaked wooden roof. Access to the second floor is through a ladder and a square hole in the middle of the second floor. A trapdoor also provides roof access. The cathach, the Heart of Nemesis in a wooden case large enough for a man to crawl inside, is housed on the second floor of this tower. Both floors of the tower are protected with a Ward Against Beasts of Legend (ReAn 30, Penetration +15) and Ward Against Mundane Beasts. There are two Black Cloaks on duty at all times here, usually up in the second floor with the cathach.
The top floor of Donal's Watch is equipped with the Brazier of Signalling, an enchanted item created by Samson.
Brazier of Signaling
Brazier of Signaling (Level 18 CrIg effect)
This brass brazier is enchanted so that, when a fire is lit in it, a fire ignites in its brother brazier, to which it has an arcane connection. The target brazier needs to have fuel which is very flammable, like wood shavings or dry brush.
R: Arc, D: Mom, T: Ind; 6 uses per day
Base 3, +4 Arc; +3 levels for 6 uses per day
The companion brazier is housed in the castle yard and kept filled with dry brush and wood shavings. If someone lights the brazier at Donal's Watch, the brazier in the castle yard bursts into simultaneous flame.
The turb is divided into two patrols, Day and Night. Each patrol numbers about 24 soldiers. At any given time, there are 12 grogs on duty. Dobbins is in charge of the Day Patrol and Frederick the Night Patrol, but they don't have authority over the Black Cloaks, who do whatever they want and expect the rest of the turb to work around them, or the knights, who only answer to Hamish or Blane.
Day Patrol (Sgt Dobbins and Decanus Marius, officers): Dobbins, Andel, Benedict, Gregory; six Welsh longbowmen, eight Irish Warriors; Marius, Titus, and Lucius; Sir Hamish and his two knights.
Benedict is always stationed on the castle parapets, and he's usually over the gatehouse.
The knights are the ones who go on patrol with Blane, and are often away from the castle. They usually take Gregory with them, to act as herald and servant.
Stelios lives in Donall's Watch and needs no sleep. So although he is not on duty during the day, he often pulls a shift to make up for the fact that three Black Cloaks share four watches.
Night Patrol (Corporal Frederick and Cornelius, officers): Frederick, Henri, Constance; six Welsh longbowmen, eight Irish Warriors; Cornelius, Marcellus, Gaius and Cassius; Stelios the Centaur; Bradach the Bastard.
Kaera the Hound unofficially patrols the castle at night.
Notes on Sentry Duty:
2 Black Cloaks are always on duty guarding the cathach at Donall's Watch. These are usually the only two Black Cloaks on duty.
2 Black Cloaks are off duty at the castle. When off duty, Black Cloaks keep their short swords and wear their non-metal armor.
3 Black Cloaks, including one who is pulling Double Duty, are at the castle asleep.
3 of the Welsh longbowmen are on duty at any given time, on the castle walls acting as sentries. Another 3 are off duty at the castle with their bows handy. The other 6 are asleep.
4 of the Irish Warriors is on duty at any given time, 4 are off duty at the castle, in armor, with their axes handy. The other 8 are asleep.
