    • Magical Oven (CrIg 20; Base 5, +1 Concentration, +5 levels for maintains Concentration, +5 levels for 24 uses/day): Brick and iron oven that heats by command. Can cook food inside, on lid, or on grill above the brick. As the one in Cor Draconis. Cost to produce 2 pawns, sell price 6 pawns.

    • Ring of Invisibility (PeIm 27; base 20, +4 levels for constant, +3 levels for environmental trigger): This ring turns the wearer invisible until the ring is taken off. Costs 3 pawns, sells for 9 pawns.

    • Ring of Wizard’s Sidestep (ReIm 19; base 10, +1 Touch, +4 levels for constant): This ring applies Wizard's Sidestep to the wearer until the ring is taken off. Costs 2 pawns, sells for 6 pawns.

    • Vanguard Shield (Greater Enchanted Item): Lets you out-Hugh even Hugh of Flambeau! Costs 18 pawns, sells for 54 pawns. Contains the following effects:

      • Halt the Piercing Shafts (ReHe(Te) 34; Base 15, +2 Sun, +1 Terram, +4 level constant) - Wards wielder from wooden and/or metal arrows. Based on Magi of Hermes, pg. 50.

      • Defender Shield (ReTe(He) 25; Base 2, +1 Touch, +1 Concentration, +2 Affect Metal, +1 Requisite, +10 levels for unlimited uses) - Harmlessly deflects all incoming blows from metal and/or wooden melee weapon each round as long as the wearer is aware of them. Based on Through the Aegis, pg. 94.

      • Rusted Decay of Ten-Score Years (PeTe 18; base 4, +1 Touch, +10 levels for unlimited uses, +3 levels trigger) - Causes any metal striking the shield to become blunt and rusted, breaking if used again in a demanding way. Based on ArMa5, pg. 155.

      • The compound wooden and metal shield is opened with 8 pawns of vis and has a capacity of 10 pawns of spell effects. As an invested item, requires 6-8 seasons wait time for delivery.

    • Learn spells from ordered texts (which are ordered in Autumn 1226 and arrived by the end of Winter 1226):

Designing the ritual of Tie the Thread That Binds (ReVi 32). Lab total 44 (Int 3 + IG 3 + Rego 7 + Vim 8 + MMF 7 + Magic Theory 8 + Lab 1 + Aura 5 + Hubris 2), 51 with Samson (Int 1 + Magic Theory 6; 2 seasons with Samson's help without overtime).

The automaton's final stats are: Magic Might 17, Str +2, Dex +2, Sta 0, Qik 0; Int N/A, Per N/A, Pre N/A, Com N/A; Size +2, Object Damage Levels 4 (Standard Quality +2, Size +2), Stress Check Bonus (to resist damage) +29. Abilities: Craft: Weaponsmith 4.

Cost so far: 49 pawns of vis (26 for the body and opening, 16 for enchantments, and 7 for the closing ritual) or a Verditius market value of 147 pawns.

What Polumeta would get out of this are lab texts for all 4 spell effects, plus the ritual for closing the enchantments on a large metal man. Consequently, if she had 49 pawns of vis of her own laying around, she could reproduce the project in 5 seasons (1 to make/open the body and 4 for the enchantments). She could use the same closing ritual as long as the automaton was exactly the same as the last one.

In other words, the project is really costing Samson 2 seasons, Polumeta 5 seasons, and whatever vis they each put in (which is going to have to total 49 pawns). Then Samson could repay her with lab slavery and everyone would be happy. That's not a bad deal for a Sword of Roland.
