Alfeva's Spells

Roderick's Turncoat, ReAn 10

R: Voice, D: Conc, T: Group

The spell causes all the target's clothing to animate, fighting the target and resisting his every action. The target must succeed in a Diff 6 Strength roll every turn he wishes to act, and is -3 on physical actions even if he succeeds. The best way to escape this spell is to take or cut off your clothing, but up to 10 articles are affected, which can be problematic. Parts of the body free of clothing can be used without penalty. If used on clothing made of plant material (linen), this spell gains an Herbam requisite.

The maga touches something that is flammable -- like dry wood or charcoal -- and it bursts into flames.

Liar's Chime, InMe 20

R: Eye, D: Conc, T: Individual

This spell is identical to Frosty Breath of the Spoken Lie (AM5 149) except that, instead of creating frosty breath, a lie causes the sound of a chiming bell. In the Greater Alps, frosty breath is too common and makes for poor evidence.

Exarmo (ReTe 10)

T: Individual, R: Voice, D: Momentary

The target is disarmed of a single object. The spell has a casting requisite if the object is not predominantly made of metal or stone. For example, staves, wands and wooden-hafted weapons will have an Herbam requisite. The spell acts with Str +5; it takes a Str roll of 12+ to resist the spell. The object usually flies up out of the owner's reach and about twenty paces behind his back, but a Finesse roll on the part of the caster can direct its flight. Scamandrius of Tremere developed this spell to strip magi of their talismans. If used for this purpose, it must penetrate Parma. Garcette learned it for battle against the Shadow Magi.

Base 3, +2 Voice, +1 for sudden movement. Based on Hugh of Flambeau's Disarm the Warrior.

Day of Communion (MuVi 20)

T: Individual, R: Touch, D: Sun

This is a common modification of Wizard's Communion, designed with a Sun duration to accommodate the performance of ritual spells such as Aegis of the Hearth. Alfeva's version of this spell contributes 10 points to the Communion's total.

Mail of Flame Resistance (ReIg 24)

This metal armor makes its wearer resistant to fire and heat, granting a +10 bonus to Soak. Fire that does less than +10 damage is ignored. This is a constant effect.

Base 4, +1 for up to +10 damage, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +4 levels for environmental trigger and 2 uses/day
