Gustov was a very young boy from northern France, living in the forest after being abandoned by his parents, when he was taken up by Arnulf the Redcap and brought to the Greater Alps for apprenticeship. With his natural affinity for Animal magic, he was snatched up by Kentigern ex Miscellanea, a former monk of Ireland who had become a magus and leader of the beast masters of Connacht. Gustov idolized his master throughout his apprenticeship and was raised with a strong respect for the Order, thanks to his master's status as a Quaesitor, but he also suffered from the prejudice directed against non-Hermetic magi so common to his House.
One of the youngest of the Alpine Apprentices, Cernunnos (as he is now known) has matured into a charismatic and good-looking young man. He is usually accompanied by a small pack of dogs which assist him in battle, and he wields a longsword.
Gustov sometimes fights with the help of animals which he has summoned with his Summon Animal supernatural ability. See this page for details.

In 1226 Cernunnos invented this spell to allow his pack to fight better alongside him.
Animals affected by this spell act as though unwounded and unfatigued throughout its duration. Track wounds and fatigue as normal, when the spell ends those levels are lost. If reduced to zero fatigue levels remaining, the animal falls unconscious as normal.
Consecutive castings delay the end of the spell, but an animal can only benefit from a number of consecutive castings equal to its size +2. Further consecutive castings have no effect.
Note that animals gain one warping point when subjected to this spell.

Located on the sixth floor of the tower that bears his name, Cernunnos has yet to customize his lab in any great detail.
