The hashers met at 1430 at Kinugasa Station, just as the rain from the morning was coming to an end. Thank goodness! Money was collected for the on-on and for the run and chalk passed out. Crusader showed up with flour all over him as if he had just had a baking disaster in the kitchen!
The sky was mostly cloudy until the very end of the race. This made it a bit cooler and nicer to run in.
The run was an A to B run with Crusaders lasts words as we went off being "I tried to keep it as flat as possible, but that wasn't always the case.... More like- that wasn't the case at all. The run although short, with little over 6 km (about 4 miles), was mostly uphill and upstairs. There was also a lot of running/ walking down staircases. My legs and buns could feel the burn! This was quite dangerous at times due to the rain earlier in the day. I myself as well as some others slipped down a few of the uneven wet stairs that came along the running path. Still some made it back before the beer was even bought!
The trails were marked very well with chalk or flour for it having just rained and we didn't have any problems finding our way. I guess this is why crusader was full of flour earlier! There were some nice views of the water and the city of yokosuka along the way. We also ran through a temple which was beautiful to see in the middle of nowhere.
We ended right by Yokosuka chuo with some beer, wine and fresh baguettes and bread waiting for us. It was oishi. We had 3 people returning to the hash after a hiatus. Welcome back to Ms. Piggy, Safety Last and Whiplash!
The next Hash was announced to bye July 10th at Yokosuka Naval base. We were told to all be sure we have our passports in order to get onto base that day. There will be a BBQ after. After the circle and the announcement of the next hash being on Yokosuka Naval Base, the group headed to Di Punto for some delicious eats! It is a great place for wine and sangria!!!
