Run No.162 11th September 2022

Scribe : Cliffhanger

11 SEP 2022 - September Hash 2022 (A to B)

Hounds: Sweetie, Dragon Fly, Santa Maria, Asset Stripper, Super Splatter, Good on Top, Cliffhanger, Desperado, No Name Satoko and No Name Hiroe.

The start for September 2022 H4 Hash was Mutsuura Station (Keikyu line). Hounds arrived in disbelief with no marks indicating which exit to take or where is the meeting point location. Someone sent FB text to hare for answers but wait, the Hare is not on FB. This is definitely not the way to start a hash on such a beautiful day. A clever hound, aka Cliffhanger, scouted out the trail and confirmed first arrow in vicinity of Mutsuura Minami Park. That is where we waited. I would blame the hare for this one, however, FB post reads: Time 2:30 for 3:00 PM start. All this happened prior to 2:15. We are just your anxious hounds ready for an awe-inspiring trail with plenty of beer and wine.

Chalk Talk and hounds away on time. The trail took us up and up to Mutsuura Sports Square, Takatoriyama Trailhead, Mount Jinmuji, and Jinmuji Temple before exiting towards Higashi-Zushi station. The trail was hilly with some dangerous rocks that required navigating with installed metal chain hand rails. Would you believe that one hound took this challenge without touching any of the chains? The nerve of her putting her life in danger like that for the love of hashing and beer. Newbies always want to be special.

After a decent but barely marked trail, we noticed the markings in the vicinity of Higashi-Zushi Station changed. Pattern was hash checkpoint, followed by hash checkpoint, followed by more hash and more checkpoints. This unique mark pattern could be none other than Gerbil Stuffer. You see, there were no longer any ON-ON marks to confirm you are on true trail. Yep, definitely Gerbil Stuffer. He even added a five-hash marked trail that ended in a Check Back (CB). Wait until I see him at the finish. I have a bone or two to pick with him. All hounds made it in and of course the unknown hare, Gerbil Stuffer, is missing in action (MIA). He knew he was going to get a tongue lashing for his section of the trail.

The finish was near Zushi Shrine and City Hall were snacks, beer, Domino Pizza and watermelon await. The run was also to commemorate and to say farewell to Semen Commander and Whore with No Name. They were provided with a farewell pewter cup (vessel) and serenaded by Dragon Fly (see FB post). May those two hares go in peace to Germany. Although the turnout was small, the trail, wine and beer, and camaraderie are always well worth it. ON-ON.
