How is the rain?
xiáo yǔ
小雨？(小+雨=sprinkle)
dà yǔ
大雨？（大+雨=heavy rain）
zhōnɡ yǔ
中雨？（中+雨=moderate rain）
bào yǔ
暴雨？（暴+雨=rain storm）
Before you going out in the morning you may ask:
——今天 天气 怎么样 ？
Jīntiān tiānqì zěnmeyàng ？
How’s the weather today?
——今天天气很好。
Jīntiān tiānqì hěn hǎo.
Today is very good.
Other possible answers:
——今天很冷。
Jīntiān hěn lěng.
——阴天了。
Yīn tiān le.
——下雨了。
Xià yǔ le . (yǔ=yǚ=ǚ)
——下雪了。
Xià xuě le.
Notes: The “u” behind j q x and y in fact is “ü”.
When you are planning for an outing, you may ask about the weather in the future:
——明天 天气 怎么样？
Míngtiān tiānqì zěnmeyàng？
How's the weather tomorrow?
Possible answers:
——不知道，我没看天气预报。
Bù zhīdào, wǒ méi kàn tiānqì yùbào.
I don't know, I didn't watch weather forecast.
——不知道， 你看看天气预报吧。
Bù zhīdào，nǐ kànkan tiānqì yùbào ba.
I don't know, you check the weather forecast.
——不知道，让我看看天气预报。
Bù zhīdào，ràng wǒ kànkàn tiānqì yùbào.
I don't know, let me check the weather forecast.
天气预报说，明天有小雨, 气温15度。
Tiānqì yùbào shuō，míng tiān yǒu xiǎo yǔ，qì wēn 15dù.
Weather forecast said, it will rain tomorrow, temperature 15 degree.
When people want to “break the ice”
(1)——又阴天了。
Yòu yīntiān le.
It’s cloudy again.
——是 啊 ，最近天气不太好。
Shìā, zuìjìn tiānqì bú tài hǎo.
Yes, Recently the weather is not so good.
(2)——天气真好！
Tiān qì zhēn hǎo！
The weather is really good!
——嗯，真不错！
èn，zhēn búcuò！
Yes, It really good!
