The Paul Lynde Halloween Special

On October 29, 1976, a TV special premiered, aired only once, and later became infamous. "The Paul Lynde Halloween Special" was a showcase for the flamboyant actor who first became familiar to TV audiences on "Bewitched" and later went on to star on "The Hollywood Squares." The special is perhaps most notable as one of the earliest television appearances of shock rockers KISS -- but it's also notable for the only on-screen pairing of Billie Hayes and Margaret Hamilton as Witchiepoo and the Wicked Witch of the West. Strangely, producers Sid and Marty Krofft ("H.R. Pufnstuf," "The Donny & Marie Show" "The Brady Bunch Hour") had nothing to do with the special, but in addition to Hayes ("H.R. Pufnstuf," "Lidsville") and Hamilton ("Sigmund and the Sea Monsters"), Krofft regular Billy Barty has a memorable role, as do Donny and Marie, and Mrs. Brady herself, Florence Henderson. Whole lotta Krofft in a special that didn't bear their name. Additionally, Betty White and Tim Conway make appearances and Roz Kelly reprises her "Happy Days" role of Pinkie Tuscadaro...

There's bad songs, bad skits and camera-mugging galore! Needless to say the special epitomizes bad '70s TV in the same way "The Star Wars Holiday Special" does. And it's now available to own on DVD!
