Goody-Goody!

With its upbeat melody, "Goody, Goody!" is sort of a misleading song. Johnny Mercer's wicked Schadenfreude lyrics are actually meant to be sung to an ex-girlfriend who gets her comeuppance. Given the plot of "What's the Matter with Helen?" (Helen grows jealous of Adelle's romance with Linc), it's perfectly appropriate that they used the song as the film's oft-recurring theme... despite the fact it wasn't written until 1935, two years after the film's 1933 setting.
