Weirdsville

Dexter (Scott Speedman, Felicity, Underworld) and Royce (Wes Bentley, American Beauty) are two Canadian junkies who have just a few hours to cough up the cash to pay their dealer. Unfortunately, Royce's girlfriend Mattie (Taryn Manning, 8 Mile) has just o.d.'d, so they decide to bury her first. Complications ensue when they cross paths with a group of Satanist wannabes, try to rob the home of a hospitalized millionaire (Matt Frewer), and tick off a gung-ho midget mall cop...

Director Alan Moyle (Times Square, Pump Up the Volume, Empire Records) never ceases to entertain me. Each of his movies are totally offbeat, featuring wonderful visuals, unique characters and killer soundtracks -- Weirdsville is certainly no exception. People expecting a lowbrow Harold & Kumar type of stoner comedy will doubtlessly be disappointed -- it's deeper than that and features a darker, more ironic type of humor. Well, maybe with the exception of the scene that comes after the end credits....

Now that I'm done, how about a delicious cup of cigatea?
