Hollywood Hot Tubs

A former staple of programming on Showtime and USA Up All Night, Hollywood Hot Tubs follows the exploits of Shawn (Paul Gunning), a teenager who's forced to work in his uncle's hot tub company as punishment for his juvenile crimes (most notably, altering the Hollywood sign to read "Hollyweed"). Unsurprisingly, Shawn is soon to be further morally corrupted by all the sexual hi-jinks that go with the job!

One of the more memorable of the endless string of late '70s/early '80s lowbrow T&A sex comedies, the story's silly and all over the map -- there's three different romance subplots, as well as additional subplots revolving around bikers, vampires and the creature from the black lagoon! -- but there's something oddly likable about this mindless trainwreck. It did well enough to spawn a vastly inferior sequel six years later, but a quarter of a century later, the movie's been virtually forgotten (but I never forgot it -- it holds the distinction of being the very first prerecorded videotape I ever bought.. used). I'm sure there are interesting stories about the making of the movie. Anybody know any?
