The Lost Room

Unless you watch the Sci-Fi channel, chances are you missed this excellent, under-promoted mini-series -- and that's a shame. THE LOST ROOM is the story of a cop (Peter Krause, "Sports Night," "Six Feet Under") who gets caught up with a group of people who collect magical "objects." Generally I'm not big on sci-fi-ish stuff, but this one hooked me. Unfortunately, it's obvious that it was set up to become a weekly TV series (which never came to pass), so many questions are left unanswered. Nonetheless, it's fascinating, and one of the best things I've seen on TV in recent years. Also stars Julianna Margulies, Kevin Pollack, Dennis Christopher, Harriet Sansom Harris, Margaret Cho, Peter Bart, and Ann Cusack.
