I have read and heard so many Bible commentaries on the passage of scripture from Luke 17:37 that I have decided to submit my own opinion to these very enigmatic and cryptic words of Jesus about an answer to a question posed by the Disciples, "Where, Lord?". This was after Jesus had been questioned by the Pharisees about when the Kingdom of God should come.
“And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.”

Many commentaries indicate that it was about the sinful nature of Jerusalem and the foretold destruction by the Roman Army, which bore the standard of the eagle. So, that would indicate many eagles gathered together about the body or carcass of Jerusalem. As with parables and other moral allegories, there is at least more than one interpretation, as of a probable intention of the speaker, who is this case was Jesus Christ. Everything that he taught was about being moral and leaving the body of the flesh behind, to pursue the more loftier goals of perfecting a spiritual body by obeying the laws of God.
I will take this as the primary goal of the speaker, to encourage all people to prepare for the Kingdom of God, by constantly becoming a more spiritual person through salvation, the ultimate goal of being a Christian.
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The words of Jesus Christ are Spirit and Life to all Christians, and we should constantly try to perfect our spiritual body and leave the sinful flesh of a physical body behind, as carrion for the vultures and eagles. They will not find it, because it does not exist. Your spiritual body is always with God. The second coming of Christ should not be only thought of as a future event, which surely will occur, but it is also a regular daily occurrence, and a perpetual cleansing phenomenon that brings us closer to God.

As perpetual eternal Christians, we should always seek to keep our bodies spiritual and not physically of the flesh. There should be nothing to find, when the vultures come hunting for our fleshly physical bodies. I'm not saying that we will not die and decay, but living a spiritual life gives meaning to our eventual death, in that we did not live life in vain. The torment of sin will not find us, the temptations of the flesh will have nothing to use against us, and our limited ability to sin will not create such huge mistakes. When we as Christians surely do sin, it will not be so great that we fail to be able to recompense and recover our path of light and love that Jesus Christ gave us to pursue throughout all of our lifetime.
