What if I told you that evil only looks and waits for a time of weakness?

Calamity, chaos, and misfortune walk around looking for a time to pounce on your unpreparedness and your unreadiness in life.  Why would you expose yourself to gunfire in the trenches of spiritual warfare, by sticking your head up and purposefully giving the enemy something to shoot at?  Why would you take that drink and then go to work in an unfit condition, where a clear head and quick-thinking responses might mean the difference in losing a limb in the factory machinery or not?  Why would you risk making bad decisions in a tense environment of important life altering processes, even when slightly inebriated?  So, this is why not to drink or to even take another drink of alcohol or to do any drugs at all.  Your spiritual and physical body need all of God´s help twenty-four hours a day, and not to be less than what God wants you to be, vigilant on an extreme level.

One of the biggest problems is your readiness for action, when at a time you might least expect danger to arrive and without any notice.  You have to be ready for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and God´s blessings will not come to visit in a less than perfectly ready vessel, your clean and holy physical body.  If you don´t care and do not follow God´s directions then you will be passed by, and who knows what chaos might occur?  In the blink of an eye, your mental and physical responses might be needed on an optimal level.  Do you think that God is not with you all the time of the day, but are you ready for God to take the wheel, when an almost unavoidable accident is about to happen?  Yet, you do avoid the accident, all because your physical body is clean and able to receive the Holy Spirit that gave you that one edge that others might not have, His eternal blessings of the quickening.  Jesus said that it is the spirit that quickeneth and that the flesh profiteth nothing.  So it is in earth and so it is in heaven, but not without God´s Holy Spirit.

There are really only two kinds of people on the earth, in more ways than one, the quick and the dead.  You are your own worst enemy.  Be prepared.  So, read the words of Jesus Christ on a daily basis, follow them, and avoid the pitfalls of the flesh.  Be sober, be vigilant, and stay the course of a quickened spiritual Christian life.
