The Seven Churches of Revelation are one of the most important Christian topics in the Book of Revelation. It goes without saying, because in St. John's vision an angel was assigned to each church. God deemed it so important that each individual church had an angel to watch over it along with a candlestick. A light emanated from the church that blessed all those who were a part of it. Whether each church was a symbolic physical light, represented by a candle or the bright clear reasoning that culminated from following the teachings of Jesus Christ, it was truly a light within the heathen darkness shining for all to see. These seven churches are actually in reality still there in present-day Turkey, although they are maybe only ruins that sit within a predominantly Muslim country. Before the invasion of Constantinople by the Ottoman Empire, it was a Christian country. Even as recently as 1915 as many as 1.5 million Christian Armenians were systematically exterminated. The Armenian Genocide is denied by the Turkish Government, while they are still on the verge of trying to eradicate the very few Christian churches that still remain within the country. Since the Seven Churches of the Revelation are such an important part of the Christian New Testament, I don't think that God will ever allow that to happen. All Christians are committed to the preservation and the permanent place of these seven churches that will be forever locked into our memory for all eternity, whether or not they have an actual physical place or not. Yet they do, and you can still go to Turkey and visit them in person, the actual places where the Christian Apostles of Jesus Christ walked and taught the eternal lessons of hope, love, and salvation.
