In the first place, it is a trick question. No, God will never leave you. Instead, you leave God, choosing sin over the absence of sin, and choosing your own will over the will of God. You choose the absence of God, over the presence of God, deciding to hide from God to dedicate yourself to your own sinful nature. That is not a very productive relationship. It is void of the goodness that naturally protects you, a righteous shield, and a layer of protection that emanates only from God and passes through every Christian. So, we are our own worst enemy, and it has nothing to do with God leaving us.
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

There are all these things that God is and God does for us. He is always with us day and night, in turmoil, in terror, even in the most evil situation that you could ever imagine. Yes, God is with us in the most trying times, and we just need to call on him and not to faint. We should never ignore God, nor try and hide our faces because of our sinfulness, like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden. We are sinful at times and swept away from the presence of God due to our disobedience, but we should always repent, confess our sins to God, and let God renew our spirits and our souls to be brought back into his loving presence and forgiveness. He is without a doubt always there and willing to lift us back up into his sublime presence, even though at times we might be chastised due to our mistakes. Good lessons are always learned, and we can profit from our mistakes, making only slight memories of our sinfulness that disappears as if it was only a bad dream. We are saved by grace and we must try our best not to sin, because we love God. He is quick to forgive and we must also do the same, so that our sinfulness will not be held as a stumbling block against our own souls.
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Even though at times we as Christians might become sinful and get led astray by evil and wicked forces that pull us away from God, through our repentance He is quick to restore the soul to the place of divine peacefulness and righteousness, in which it was before we chose to disobey His commandments. We are counted as His own children, and through His divine presence we are able to always stand and fight against the enemy and overcome all evil forces, to live in the house of God forever.
1 (A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
